Obamacare Rant...

So, I've found that a number of people I talk to about Obamacare have absolutely no idea what it is, or what it does. It does NOT give people insurance. Nor does it take care of those who can't afford insurance in any real way. Essentially, it regulates private Insurance. A thing that most major Insurance companies were AT THE TABLE for when drawing the thing up.

Those of us who oppose Obamacare do not wish the poor to get sicker, the old to 'suck it up', or that only the wealthy afford good doctors. In fact, the pipe dream of the left, the 'single-payer system', makes healthcare worse, sick people stay sick longer, and old people fill up doctors offices over the sniffles. As someone who's lived in Canada for 4 years now, I can tell you, I don't wish this system on my worse enemy. It's slow, inefficient, full of constant hoops to jump through, unhelpful, unfriendly, and, over all, about 10 years behind anything I've experienced in the United States. Stop romanticizing free healthcare for all, and start looking at ways we can meld the efficiency, advancement, and production of the private system with COMMON SENSE initiatives to help those who legitimately cannot afford proper medical care. That's a nutzo idea!

The cartoon below(from Obamacarefacts.com) illustrates not only the problem of the mentality of the Obamacare Elite, but the practicality:

The cartoon is mildly funny. However, it still doesn't quite hit on how HORRIBLY BAD the ACA is. Forgetting the problems above, there is also the fact that no one will be able to afford the Insurance when they don't have jobs, or are only making part-time salaries. Add that to the fact that Obama's under the delusion that the 95% the government contributes to those who can't afford it (which will be a lot when all is said and done) is magic money that falls from the sky. Sheesh.

As someone with a preexisting condition (and btw, I've never had an insurance company say they would never insure me. That's a straw man), I too want health insurance costs to go down. But when has getting the government involved in anything driven costs down. There are so many overreaching regulations in this bill, that to get it to ACTUALLY WORK, Government would have to take over the Insurance Industry, Set Full Time work mandates on Employers, and increase the Minimum Wage beyond reasonable proportions. All of which would have a catastrophic effect on the U.S. Economy. Anyone who cared to pay attention to these warning signs when it was being written ...and passed without being read, would have known it was a bad idea.

And before anyone goes on saying Republicans have no ideas...BULL. Republicans have countless ideas. They had many great ideas when the thing was being written. But a certain party, and I'm not going to name any names, but they know who they are, didn't want Republicans to have a voice at the table. They wanted ALLLLLL the credit. Well, now they have all the credit, and it's clear no one who actually had to use this crap wants it, and all of a sudden we are talking about Republicans being "obstructionist"...Wouldn't it have been great if the Republicans could have obstructed this MASTERPIECE OF NONSENSE!??!?! We'd have saved ourselves a lot of time, money, and heartache. As it is now, the only people who have to deal with it are those who don't have tee-time with Obama or an in with the government to exempt them from it.

Burn the thing now. Burn that putrid rotting corpse of a bill. And start over with something that might actually WORK. Oh, and here are a few tips when you do it, guys:

1) Comprehensive bills are never comprehensive. When you try to rewrite the entire world's laws in one bill, you will fail.

2) The Bills should be split by individual issue and needn't exceed 10 pages apiece.

3) READ THE EF-ING THING BEFORE YOU PASS IT, you inbred morons!

4) Maybe let's have two UNBIASED but OPPOSING economics professionals take a look at it before you decide that you bunch of lawyers know everything there is to know about the drawbacks and consequences of TAKING OVER ONE OF THE BIGGEST INDUSTRIES IN AMERICA!!!!

Can you tell Obamacare bothers me?
